The Tidewater Genealogical Society library is open to the public

The Library consists of two rooms, the Virginia H. Rollings Genealogical Room which houses our books, and the periodical room which houses journals from other genealogical societies.  The periodical room also contains a computer lab with three computers, a printer and document scanner.  All computers in the lab are connected to the library wi-fi and the library's subscription to Ancestry.  The library has wi-fi if you wish to bring your own laptop for research.  The library is staffed by two volunteers who are there to help with your family history research.  The library is non-lending; books and other reference materials cannot be removed or "checked out".
The TGS Library currently has over 2500 books covering cemeteries, family genealogies, marriages, deeds and many other items mainly on Virginia and North Carolina, but also about New England, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and much more.
