Mission / Purpose
THE PURPOSE OF THE SOCIETY IS TO:
- Instruct in methods of research, documentation and recording of genealogies.
- Provide resources through our Library.
- Procure and maintain genealogical resources.
- Collect, index and file family records of members.
- Collect, develop, publish and disseminate genealogical information of interest to the membership and to the general public.
PRIMARY SOCIETY ACTIVITIES:
- Informative bi-monthly meetings, Fall to Spring.
- The publication of a quarterly, Virginia Tidewater Genealogy, in March, June, September and December.
- The Sale of TGS published books of local source materials.
- A computer lab is available to the public at our Library.
